This is the Novarossi FLASH.21-PT TUNED 9 Port .21 On Road Engine. The Novarossi FLASH.21-PT has been updated for 2011, and features the EVO 2 cooling head, helping to lower the center of gravity of both the engine and chassis. New software has been developed that allows for more precise measurements and has been used to develop a silicone ramped, triple slugged TUNED crankshaft. This technology has produced a crankshaft with reduced rotating mass and improved fuel flow. The Piston features a specialized coating that provides reduced friction and improved strength. The crank spins on a high quality ceramic rear bearing that was selected for improved performance and lifespan, while the backplate features a steel insert for reduced conrod friction and extended conrod life. When combined, all these improvements provide you with an engine that can easily meet the expectations of even the most demanding drivers, and is ready to compete at the highest levels.
Features:
- Cooling Head: The 'Lighter & Lower evolution 2' type cooling head has been drilled and milled out to reduce the mass of the cooling head, reducing the Center of Gravity of both the engine and car.
- Compression Rings: The ignition timing is controlled with these shims that vary in thickness. You can add or remove a shim to alter the ignition timing. The ignition timing is related to the percentage of Nitro in the fuel and the altitude (above sea level) of your model.
- Conrod: The R7 conrod is made from a super light aluminum which has been ultrasonically tested. The shape of the R7 rod reduces turbulence inside the engine while running.
- Sleeve: The sleeve features 9 transfer ports and an exhaust with booster ports.
- Piston: The piston features a special black superficial treatment that reduces friction and improves piston strength.
- Rear Cover: The rear cover optimizes the filling and reducing dead space. The steel plate reduces friction and extends the lifespan of the conrod.
- Rear Ball Bearing: The rear ball bearing has high quality ceramic balls to minimize wear and inertia to improve acceleration and fuel consumption.
- Front Ball Bearing: The Front Ball Bearing has a thickness of 5mm, this modification is to prevent fuel spillage between the carter/crankshaft and the bearing.
- Combustion Chamber: The combustion chamber is supported by an O-Ring which is placed between the combustion chamber and the crankcase to reduce the vibrations of the combustion chamber.
- Crankshaft: The crankshaft has been balanced and ramped to increase the mixture flow and reduce turbulence inside the crankcase. The balancing is done by 3 tungsten alloy inserts and the inlet has a silicone ramp to reduce the weight of the crankshaft to improve acceleration.
- Glowplug: The glowplug of engine is a Turbo type glowplug. Turbo glowplugs have a different shape than Standard glowplugs and therefor are not interchange able with engines that are using Standard glowplugs!
