Sweep Racing tires are used by the top GT driver across the country.
Shore: EXP tires are available in 45, 50, and 55 shore, and the Natural GT compound are available in 45 and 50 shore. Below is a chart showing shore temps.
|GT COMPOUND / 45 SHORE||60º AND LOWER / DUSTY UNPREPPED TRACK|
|GT COMPOUND / 50 SHORE||60º AND HIGHER / DUSTY UNPREPPED TRACK|
|EXP COMPOUND / 45 SHORE||65º AND LOWER / CLEAN PREPPED TRACK|
|EXP COMPOUND / 50 SHORE||65º TO 95º / CLEAN PREPPED TRACK|
|EXP COMPOUND / 55 SHORE||95º AND HIGHER / CLEAN PREPPED TRACK|
Compounds: Available in two compounds, the Natural GT compound works well for budget minded racers, while the EXP compound is a synthetic formula closely guarded by Sweep Racing, and allows for unreal maximum grip.
Tread: Available in both treaded and slick designs, the treaded tire is best used for parking lot races where the surface has not been prepped or swept. The slicks are best used for permanent tracks that are prepped and swept.
Inserts: A standard with GT tires has always been a strip of foam that allows a cushion of air between the tire and insert, but Sweep now takes it to the next level by developing a molded insert that fits the wheel and tire perfect, allowing the tire patch to make full contact with the surface, which in turn promotes more consistent performance and longer tire life.
Wheels: Sweep Racing wheels are the only of its kind in GT racing. Sized larger than normal GT wheels, Sweep wheels measure in at 83mm, weigh in at a light 36.2 grams, and are made using an indestructable Dupont Virgin Nylon mixture. The new ROK wheels take it a step further with a new mixture, and have zero flex under high loads, and weigh in at only 35 grams.
